welcome to Day 5

Now it’s time to take that exciting next step and start applying to host agencies. You don’t need to have everything perfectly figured out, and you definitely don’t have to feel 100% ready. All you really need is the willingness to go for it and try something new.

Thank you so much for spending this time with me diving into The Vacation Fund. I truly hope this course felt supportive, encouraging and that it helped answer questions you had about becoming a vacation planner.

Now it’s time to take the next step. Applying to host agencies.

You don’t need every detail figured out or to feel perfectly ready. You just need to be willing to try something new.

Let that be your main focus for the next week. Read, research, ask questions, and trust yourself as you decide who you want to partner with. You don’t need to rush, but you do want to keep moving. This step opens the door to training, support, and the next phase of your growth.

What comes after applying?

A very common question pops up, “What should I do now?” When you’re new, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by options. There’s always more to learn, more to watch, more to organize. But growth doesn’t come from doing everything, it comes from doing the right things consistently.

That’s where IPAs come in. An Income Producing Activity is any action you take in your business that directly or indirectly leads to income.

These are the small, intentional steps that move your business forward like:

  • Starting conversations

  • Following up with potential clients

  • Sharing about travel

IPAs are not about being busy, they’re about being purposeful.

Instead of wondering, “What should I be doing?”, IPAs give you a clear answer.

10 INCOME PRODUCING ACTIVITIES FOR BRAND NEW TRAVEL AGENTS

1. TELL PEOPLE WHAT YOU DO

This sounds obvious, but it’s the most important step. Casually tell friends, family, and acquaintances that you’re now a vacation planner. Most first clients come from people who already trust you. If people don’t know, they can’t book.

2. SHARE ABOUT TRAVEL ON SOCIAL MEDIA

You don’t need to sell. Just share.

  • Destinations you love

  • Trips you’re learning about

  • Why you enjoy planning travel

Visibility builds familiarity and familiarity leads to inquiries.

3. FOLLOW UP WITH ANYONE WHO MENTIONS TRAVEL

If someone says:

  • “We’re thinking about a trip…”

  • “We want to go somewhere next year…”

That’s an invitation. A simple follow-up message can turn into your first booking.

4. PRICE TRIPS FOR REAL PEOPLE

Practice with actual inquiries not just sample quotes. Even if someone says they’re “just looking,” pricing trips builds confidence, speed, and skill.

5. Learn One Supplier Well

Choose one area to start:

  • Disney

  • Cruises

  • All-inclusive resorts

Depth creates confidence faster than trying to learn everything.

6. ASK FOR REFERRALS EARLY

After helping someone even with information. Ask, “Do you know anyone else planning a trip?” You don’t need to wait until you feel established.

7. TALK ABOUT TRAVEL IN EVERYDAY LIFE

School pickup. Playdates. Family gatherings. You don’t need a pitch just curiosity. Ask, “Where would you go if you could travel anywhere?”

8. TRACK YOUR CONVERSATIONS

Nothing fancy, just take notes.

Write down:

  • Who you talked to

  • What they’re interested in

  • When to follow up

Follow-up is where income happens.

9. STAY VISIBLE EVEN WHEN YOU FEEL QUIET

Even when inquiries are slow, keep showing up. Momentum comes from consistency.

10. TAKE ONE BRAVE ACTION EVERY DAY

Message someone. Post something. Follow up. Confidence is built by doing, not waiting.

You don’t need to:

  • Know everything

  • Have a big audience

  • Feel perfectly ready

start exploring host agencies and finding the right fit for you.

Read through their information, ask questions, compare training and support, and trust yourself through the process. There’s no need to rush, but there is power in continuing to move forward.

Once you begin, remember this business is built through small, consistent action. The agents who succeed are not necessarily the ones doing the most, they’re the ones staying intentional and showing up regularly. Every conversation, every quote, every follow-up, and every post shared is helping build momentum, even if you don’t see results immediately.

This journey is about so much more than earning commission. It’s about creating opportunities for your family. It’s about having the flexibility to dream bigger, travel more, and create memories together that once felt out of reach. It’s about building something meaningful for yourself while helping others experience joy through travel too.

I’m so proud of you for investing in yourself, your future, and your family by taking this course. That alone says so much about the kind of life you want to create.

Now it’s time to move from learning into action. Take the next step with confidence, trust yourself through the process, and remember, you are fully capable of building something beautiful from this beginning.

Your future vacations, memories, and opportunities are waiting for you.
